Case Study Overview

ConceptWave's solution was deployed for Digital Phone Services at a cable operator with more than 10 million U.S. customers.

Our Management solution extended the cable operator's billing and order management systems to capture and provision digital phone services.

The ConceptWave system manages all interactions between the billing systems, provisioning systems and the CLECs. It also interacts with the Customer Service Group for pre-order CLEC inquiries, the Provisioning and Confirmation team for provisioning exception handling and monitoring, and the CLECs for non-automated transactions.

Some transactions that the ConceptWave system orchestrates include:

  • Service Requests to start the order management process for adds, changes, and disconnects
  • Service Response notifications to indicate that CLEC processing has been completed
  • Activation Requests to start network activation
  • Activation Responses to notify that activation has been completed
  • Complete Requests to update the LIDB and E911 database

The ConceptWave solution utilizes WSDL. The system communicates with other systems by interfacing to the cable operator's ESB via XML over SOAP. Other approaches are also available.
